Veneers – Enhance Your Smile
What Are Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-designed shells resembling natural teeth that our Atlanta Smiles team carefully crafts. Applying veneers is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the aesthetics of your teeth.
Dental veneers permanently bond to the front surface of the teeth. Patients can receive a single veneer to correct an isolated issue, like a chipped tooth. Or, patients may choose to invest in a smile makeover with multiple veneers.
Traditional veneers give dental patients a versatile and straightforward solution to improve the look of your smile. Designing and applying porcelain veneers requires experience and technical detail. Work with the dentists you can trust at Atlanta Smiles.

How Do Porcelain Veneers Work?
Each veneer is custom-designed to your specific teeth and engineered in our dental lab. The application process typically includes three appointments.
We begin with a consulting appointment. During this appointment, you meet with your doctor to discuss the procedure in detail. You can ask any questions and address any concerns. The goal is to build confidence in your decision and educate you on the process and expectations.
Before we move forward, we create a customized treatment plan that best suits you and your schedule. We prioritize both outstanding results and the highest standards for patient satisfaction throughout the process.
During your next appointment, we begin the actual physical work of your veneers. Your teeth are shaved down or etched to provide a suitable surface to apply the veneer in preparation for the application process. Then, a temporary veneer is placed on top of your teeth. This serves as a placeholder until our trusted ceramists construct your permanent veneers.
The third and final step is to replace your temporary veneers with your permanent, custom-made veneers. After the application, we examine the fit and make any needed adjustments.

How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?
Porcelain veneers typically last between 10 and 15 years. The key to long-lasting veneers is expert design and application. Porcelain veneers are permanent and require replacement when they wear out.
Care for your teeth and maintain good dental health to avoid damage. While veneers are durable, certain poor dental habits may shorten the lifespan, just like with your natural teeth. Practice good oral hygiene, like brushing, flossing, and scheduling regular dental cleanings. Porcelain veneers last longer than alternative veneer products.
How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?
The cost for veneers varies based on each patient’s needs and teeth. The cost factors include the number of veneers, the amount of contouring, and the number of appointments needed to complete the process.
To provide a general estimate, each veneer typically costs around $2,000. However, we provide each patient with a custom quote to help you make an informed decision. Dental insurance usually does not cover cosmetic procedures like dental veneers.
Types of Veneers
Veneers come in two basic types, porcelain, and composite. At Atlanta Smiles, our dental team recommends porcelain veneers in most cases because porcelain veneers last longer and look better.
Resin composite veneers aren’t as durable as porcelain. While composite veneers cost less, they also last half the lifespan of porcelain veneers. In addition, they don’t provide as natural a look, and they are prone to staining.
We find our patients have greater success and satisfaction with porcelain veneers. We’re always happy to discuss the treatment options available to enhance your smile.
Will Veneers Look Like Normal Teeth?
Yes! When you work with an experienced cosmetic dentist and select porcelain veneers, your veneers will look like real teeth. Porcelain’s translucent quality reflects light similarly to tooth enamel. Plus, porcelain resists stains to maintain a white smile.
For a long-lasting and natural appearance, porcelain veneers make an excellent investment.
How Do You Decide if Veneers or Bonding Is the Best Option?
Dental bonding and dental veneers both correct the cosmetic appearance of the teeth. We usually recommend dental bonding for minor tooth adjustments, like a small chip in one tooth.
For significant issues, like major discoloration or heavy wear and tear, veneers may offer a better solution. Additionally, we recommend veneers for more pressing dental problems like broken teeth, substantial gaps, or even variations in the size and shape of your teeth.
We work with each patient to discuss the right option to give you the results you desire.
