Botox & Dermal Fillers Atlanta
Botox and dermal fillers are popular facial aesthetic treatment options for our Atlanta patients who wish to turn back the clock and restore a youthful appearance. Dr. Dina Giesler of Atlanta Smiles is clinically trained and experienced in achieving beautiful, natural-looking results with these injectable treatments. She can use Botox and dermal fillers to treat an array of facial aging concerns, or relieve headaches and facial pain caused by teeth clenching and grinding. Botox and dermal fillers can be administered painlessly and can achieve results quickly.
How Does Botox Work?
Botox, whose active ingredient is botulism toxin, is injected into the facial muscles in order to temporarily freeze or relax them so they cannot contract. This freezing effect causes the wrinkles and lines on the overlying skin to smoothen, creating a younger-looking appearance. Injecting Botox into the facial muscles can also relieve pain caused by muscle spasms that occur as a result of teeth and jaw problems, like teeth clenching and grinding.

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
When injected into various facial areas, dermal fillers add volume to the face and fill in wrinkles and fine lines. The result is a fuller, smoother and youthful appearance. There are many types of dermal fillers (e.g., hyaluronic acid fillers, polylactic fillers), each with their own set of benefits and limitations. Results with dermal fillers can last anywhere between three months and two years, depending on the specific fillers used.

Treatment with Botox and dermal fillers can take as little as 15 minutes, depending on the size of the target area. A topical anesthetic may be applied before beginning treatment in order to minimize discomfort. Using a thin needle, the injectable will be administered via the skin. There is no downtime with injectables, meaning you will be able to resume your normal routine immediately after treatment. Post-op side effects are temporary but include soreness and redness in the treatment area. Depending on the specific injectable used, results may be noticeable immediately after treatment or can appear gradually. Because results with injectables are temporary, repeat treatments are necessary to maintain results. Our team can advise on a treatment plan and schedule for you based on your needs and goals.
