Dr. Giesler is a Master Dentist of the Academy of General Dentistry, a rare distinction achieved by fewer than 1 percent of American dentists, and an Active Member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Georgia Dental Association. She is deeply committed to continuing education, attending over 100 hours of continuing courses each year. Dr. Giesler has been involved in the profession of dentistry since 1980. After graduating from the University of Texas Dental School in Houston, she completed a hospital residency program at the Oklahoma Medical Center. She received extensive training in treating medically compromised children and adults. She also served a one-year commitment in the Public Health Service in Plainview, Texas.

Dr. Giesler has passed her written exam and is involved in the accreditation process through the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is serving on the Board of Trustees for the Foundation. She is fundraising chair and chairing the 2007 Celebration of Smiles featuring Kenny Rogers. She is serving a five year term on the prestigious 3M Council for Innovative Dentistry and also on the Advisory Council for Discus Dental where she is involved with the analysis process of new products. Dr. Giesler received the top dentist award for 2004-2005. She is committed to local charities in Atlanta and served as March of Dimes Chairman for the Annual Gala in 2005, and is serving on the committee in 2006. Dr. Giesler contributes to her community by working with Domestic Violence Abuse Victims and her passion is helping these women regain their dignity and smiles back. She is the Founder of the Atlanta Smiles Foundation, Inc. Her hobbies include dance, kickboxing, pilates, weight training, and interior design.

Dr. Giesler is a Master Dentist of the Academy of General Dentistry, the most prestigious award a dentist can achieve according to the Academy. There are only 2,121 dentists who have achieved this award in the world. It represents a life-long commitment of learning and responsibility to withhold and embody the principles and ideals which supports the mission of the Academy of General Dentistry- "to serve the needs and to represent the interests of general dentists and to foster their continued proficiency through continuing dental education in order to better serve the public. This is a very respected designitation within the realm of clinical dentistry.

She is married to John H. Giesler, MD, an oncologist, and together they have three children.
